Laminate is one of the most popular and cost effective choices for kitchens, cabinets and vertical surfaces. LPM (low-pressure laminate) is a pre-finished panel of laminated board, which comes in a huge variety of colours and designs. Modern melamine cabinets are available with high gloss finishes, as well as gloss, satin, matte and textured kitchen finishes. Some of the benefits of laminated board include that it’s easy to clean and resistant to impact, moisture, heat and stains.
Two pack lacquer is often called 2 pack, 2-pack or 2k, and it has been a popular choice for kitchens cabinets for years for its appearance and durability. 2 pack refers to a two part paint solution that is sprayed onto MDF doors and panels. Choosing two pack allows you to select or match any colour you want. You can also choose from several different surface finishes, including high gloss, semi gloss, satin, matte or textured. Because two pack is a paint, it’s a perfect choice for shaped doors for your shaker style, hamptons or country kitchen.
Vinyl wrap is a contemporary choice for kitchen cabinetry materials, and is suited to both shaped and flat doors. Vinyl wrap is a vacuum formed vinyl finish, whereby vinyl is applied directly to your cut-to-size moisture-resistant panels using heat. Vinyl wrap is available in a range of colours which you can see in our kitchen showroom.
Timber veneer is real timber and is produced by slicing selected timber logs to an approximate thickness of 0.6m. With a surface coverage of forty times more than that of solid timber, it’s the most economical way of utilising wood. Because of the naturally occurring grain in timber, veneer creates a beautiful natural look.
Another leading choice for kitchen cabinetry materials is solid timber. Doors made from timber are a great choice for any kitchen, especially if you’re looking for shaped doors. The aesthetic value of timber comes from the various grains, textures and colours, and the variability in these characteristics adds to timber’s charm. Popular timber choices include myrtle, silver ash, blue gum, mahogany and hoop pine. Timber is a renewable resource and is a great alternative to man-made materials.
